As an employer with commercial drivers, you know the value of safety. Ensuring that each of your drivers has a valid license and a safe driving history can benefit you through safer operations, which may lead to fewer insurance claims and better compliance with regulatory agency requirements.
The New York State Department of Motor Vehicles’ (DMV) License Event Notification Service (LENS) gives you access to each of your drivers’ license records and provides daily updates on events that occur. LENS is available at no charge for government agencies and volunteer fire companies. Commercial and not-for-profit organizations must pay a fee to participate in LENS.

In addition, LENS provides an annual, comprehensive Anniversary Status Report, which includes information on all drivers. This report also allows you to update your LENS roster, so you can be sure you’re getting the information you need about the drivers you employ.
